Description
2021 DSM Music Language Online Course – Musicianship Module
Everything you need to strengthen your musicianship skills!
What is MLOCM?
This Online Course doesn’t teach the concepts but channels all of your exercising energy into practicing, refining, scaffolding and strengthening your musicianship skills. You’ll hear from Deb each week to keep you on track and be able to access the content online. Plus, there are regular chances for optional video extension tasks to really flex your musicianship muscles and also get feedback directly from Deb!
Work through the weekly work-outs one practice activity at a time for the best results, or level up your intensity with the Concept Plans as your guide. While the aim of the game is slow and steady effort over the ten weeks the course runs for, you’re also welcome to store away the weekly emails and complete everything at a later time that suits you better. Don’t forget, too – you can always reach Deb via email if you’re stuck.
Who is MLOCM for?
If you’re learning or teaching in a music classroom, prepping for the VCE Music Performance Aural & Written Exam (or equivalent) or have set yourself some musicianship fitness goals, this course is your dedicated personal trainer! Remember, this just gives you a way to practice concepts, not learn them – for that, this course is best paired with Musicianship and Aural Training for the Secondary School, Level 2 (if you’re brand new to it all) or Musicianship and Aural Training for the Secondary School, Level 3.

Some student testimonials:
Hello! I would just like to let you know that on Wednesday I attended a music revision session at school and successfully completed aural questions better than I ever have as a result of thinking in solfa. I am currently up to week 4, day 4!
Hey Deborah!
Thank you so much for this! I have seen the benefits seeping through my ears because I have been able transcribe rhythms and melodies that I used to think was utterly impossible. Definitely reaping the positive outcomes of this program since I am now able to pitch not only through the note but through the visualisation of the hand-signs of solfa. Can’t wait for Week 6!
Hello again Deb — just quickly, thanks for the support. Had my exam last week and all the solfa practice with melodic minor scale has paid off!
Hey Deb! Being able to practice and revise everything has really helped bring loose ends together and I am starting to see the benefits of using solfa and changing my perspectives upon approaching melodic and rhythmic dictation. Thanks heaps!
