Question 3 – Teacher Instructions

IMPORTANT: before playing begins:

1. Click here to LOG IN (or SIGN UP to create a free account) to SPOTIFY. (The link will open up SPOTIFY in a new tab on your browser).
2. Reset countdown timers below to 00:00 if necessary.

Allow approximately 20 – 30 seconds of question reading time:

First playing of Interpretation A followed by 30 seconds of silence.

Press “PLAY” on the video. The video is set to play from and until the correct timing. When the video stops use the countdown timer provided for 10 seconds of silence.

1st playing of Interpretation A:

First playing of Interpretation B followed by 2 minutes of silence. Instructions:

1. Make sure you are logged into SPOTIFY as per instructions at top of page.

   You should be taken to the “Forever Autumn” recording by Sarah Maclaine. (If not, click the link in step 2. again).
3. Press PLAY on the play bar (at the bottom of your screen) to begin playing recording.
4. At the 1’33” mark press PAUSE on the play bar and reset the recording back to 0″00″ by dragging the white circle on the play bar (at the bottom of your screen) to the far left.

Use the countdown timer provided for 1 minute of silence.

1 minute of silence:

Second and final playing of Interpretation A followed by 30 seconds of silence.

Press “PLAY” on the video. The video is set to play from and until the correct timing. When the video stops use the countdown timer provided for 10 seconds of silence.

2nd and final playing of Interpretation A:
