Deb’s Approach to Lesson Planning

These Master Lesson Plans are created with long term understanding in mind – allowing our students to really KNOW the concepts and elements taught and introduced by following a Kodály-Inspired teaching process of Prepare, Present and Practice.

This means that in any lesson it is most likely that students are doing all three – Preparing new concepts, Presenting those that were previously prepared and Practicing any that have been presented earlier. These have been identified within all of Deb’s lesson plans as follows:

You can access these ready-made lesson plans that align with the Lessons in Lesson 1 Speaking Music: Musicianship & Aural Training Level One 3rd Edition and activities by clicking here.

These Master Lessons can easily be saved into your own Lesson Hub and adapted to suit your own classroom situation.

Long & Medium Term Planning

In order to create these detailed, sequential and fully scaffolded Lesson Plans, the following documents have been created and used as resources. Click on each tile to be taken to a detailed resource for each and don’t forget to email Deb if you’d like your own editable version of any of them!
